Battlestar Galactica...
I'll be honest, I'm not one into Sci-Fi stuff outside of Star Wars but a while ago, I caught the Battlestar Galactica "movie" when it was broadcast on NBC. I never got into the first couple of seasons when they were broadcast on NBC or The Sci-Fi Channel. Through the magic of TV to DVD, I've rented the first two seasons from Blockbuster (I love their exchange your mailed DVD at a retail store for another policy - NetFlix can't compete) and downloaded the third using BitTorrent. My DVD player plays DivX files so I have basically been glued to my couch for the last two weeks watching countless hours of BSG. Is it just me, or is the whole show an allegory for the current state of world affairs? I think this may just be the college English major mentality popping up and I may be reading into this too much but I can't help be see similarities between the characters/groups on the show and players on the world stage. Anyway, this has quickly become one of my favorite shows but I hear the fourth season may be its last. One of the checkout clerks at Blockbuster mentioned it to me when I was checking out and unfortunately, it was confirmed here. Oh well - I guess most good shows do give their fans a finite ending (cough, cough Sopranos - I don't give a frak how "creative" David Chase is, he can go eat a dick) that they can live with and it looks like BSG fits the profile. The season finale for the third season was awesome and January can't get here soon enough!
Oh, and I have somehow added frak to my vocabulary. Sheesh.
